World first in paediatric cancer care

The Harley Street Clinic has become the world’s first hospital to provide paediatric patients with wearable tech monitoring devices to aid with their care plan for cancer treatments.

Medopad, the wearable tech watch, allows medical information, such as symptoms, vitals and medication, to be delivered in real time to mobile applications, monitored by clinicians or medical staff. This real time information will provide clinical teams, such as our Multidisciplinary Team Specialist (MDTs), to provide the highest standards of care based on accurate and timely patient data.

The technology will involve patients in their care by allowing them a hands-on approach by being able to record the side effects of their medication, be reminded when to take their medication, and track movement and other relevant metrics. This involvement ensures that patients are supported at all times and enables clinicians to reduce the negative impact of medication, increase engagement and satisfaction and improve the quality of cancer care given.
