Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK. Screening for this form of cancer aims to detect bowel cancer at an early stage (even in people with no symptoms) when treatment is more likely to be effective.
Our aim is to support and guide patients through the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer. We will work with the patient through the pathway ensuring that they feel cared for and informed throughout a potentially worrying and stressful time. We provide fast access to the finest specialists in the field, see the patient promptly and provide same day outpatient diagnostics if necessary. Available screening options can be discussed at our Diagnostic Centre with one of our specialist Consultants.
We offer an extensive range of colorectal diagnostics at our specialised Diagnostic Centre with state-of-the-art facilities. The range of diagnostic services includes:
- Molecular testing of the tumour
- Blood Tests
- MRI / PET / CT or CAT Scan/ Ultrasound/ X-Ray
If you would like to make an enquiry please use the contact form at the bottom of this page, or for more information please go to our diagnostics and outpatients website.
Beyond our work in cancer and cardiology, we also provide a full range of surgical services, from plastic surgery and gynaecology, to ENT procedures and orthopaedic treatments.
The Harley Street Clinic has dedicated facilities for outpatient chemotherapy and associated treatments.
Radiotherapy involves the treatment of cancer with radiation. The radiation used is similar to that used to take an X-ray picture but is more penetrating.
The Molecular Imaging Centre has at its disposal a latest generation PET / CT Scanner and two Gamma Cameras, one with SPECT/CT capabilities.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
The whole pathway, from pre-diagnosis, through until treatment and survival, is supported by an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who works closely with the MDT. She will be there to support and advise you through the cancer care maze, linking closely with all the Clinicians involved in your care.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) of specialists meet on a regular basis to discuss and carefully review individual cases and second opinions referred to them from all over the world. Having considered all the evidence, they independently provide the most appropriate treatment plan followed by a written report for each patient.
Medical opinion from an MDT provides referring doctors and patients with valued reassurance and peace of mind about the best way forward.
All of the various Clinicians mentioned below are highly-rated experienced experts in the field of colorectal cancer within both the NHS and private practice and belong to the expert Colorectal MDT, sharing and practicing cutting edge medicine.
