    Dr Riyaz Kaba graduated from the University of Dundee in 1994 and subsequently trained on the Northwest Thames Rotation at Royal Brompton Hospital and St Mary's Hospital. He was awarded an advanced fellowship at the prestigious Ivy League institution of Columbia University in Manhattan, New York City.

    Amongst other achievements, Dr Kaba recently implanted one of the world's first multi-polar pacemaker leads for a patient with severe heart failure. Dr Kaba has published widely and his most recent academic research is entitled "Cellular and Molecular Cardiology with Recent Discovery of a Novel Sodium Channel in the Heart".

    In collaboration with researchers from Imperial College, Dr Kaba recently published in the highly distinguished journal, Nature Genetics, following the discovery of a Sodium-channel in the heart. He has received several academic awards including prestigious international awards from America and Europe.

    Specialist interests include arrhythmias – the disturbance of electrical activity and conduction within the heart – and he performs potentially curative interventional procedures for such conditions in the form of Cardiac Ablations.
