Happy International Nurses’ Day

LucyPdf_A3

Staff at The Harley Street Clinic have been busy this week celebrating the amazing care that our nurses provide each and every day.

International Nurses’ Day (12th May) is celebrated each year on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. In honour of this event, our senior nursing team have put together a range of events throughout the week to raise the profile of our nurses across the hospital and celebrate the remarkable difference they make to patients’ lives.

Monday saw the launch of a poster collage competition for our nurses, allowing them to put their creative and judging skills to the test, whilst Tuesday marked the beginning of the senior management team baby photo contest – can you guess which baby picture is our CEO, Aida Yousefi…?

Other activities include two free lunches for nurses and the rest of the staff, free ice cream every day for the duration of the week and the Great Harley Street Clinic bake-off, allowing staff to compete for the prestigious King or Queen of the canteen… judged by our very own Greg Wallace and Mary Berry!

The week ends with a prize-giving ceremony for the best poster collage, most delicious and well-presented cake and of course, the winners of the baby photo contest.

During this week, nurses have taken this opportunity to thank non-clinical staff from Porters to Caterers, Physiotherapists to Reception Staff, who support our nurses and allow them to focus on patient care.

The dedication and care of our nurses

We regularly hear stories about the exceptional work our nurses undertake, and so we would like to acknowledge and thank each and every one of them today, on International Nurses’ Day.

There are countless stories across the hospital that help demonstrate how our nurses go the extra mile, from organising cakes for patients’ birthdays to ensuring our patients get their creature comforts – whether it be Starbucks coffee, takeaway pizza or organising for a patient to be taken outside to see her much-missed dogs.

Our nurses are an extremely important part of what makes us a world-class provider of medical services and the hospital group of choice for many people.

Mike, Neeb, CEO of HCA Healthcare UK, the umbrella company for The Harley Street Clinic says: “We are proud of the nurses who work for us and rise to the challenges of a changing and evolving healthcare industry. International Nurses’ Day gives a chance for all of us to stop and think about nurses and the invaluable contributions they make not only to HCA Healthcare UK, but in caring for our patients and helping to make our world a healthier place. Thank you for all that you do to support colleagues and care for patients”
