Biography:

Dr. Sirker trained in medicine at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Physiology in 1994 and a triple Distinction in Medical Finals in 1996.

 

He works as a Consultant in Interventional and General Cardiology. His NHS position is based partly at The Heart Hospital in London (University College London Hospitals) where he undertakes invasive and interventional procedures including coronary angiography, angioplasty and stenting, intravascular ultrasound and pressure wire assessments of coronary arteries. He is also trained and accredited in echocardiography.

 

Dr Sirker provides General (Adult) Cardiology care at the main University College Hospital site (on Euston Road) where he is involved in regular outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations. He sees patients with a wide variety of symptoms and heart conditions in this capacity – including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and faints, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, coronary artery disease and heart valve disorders.

 

He is actively engaged in clinical research in heart disease and is a member of the Research and Development committee of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society.
