The Harley Street Clinic has dedicated facilities for outpatient chemotherapy and associated treatments.
We have partnered with Leaders in Oncology Care (The LOC) – a leading specialist in the medical treatment of cancer, enabling us to provide our patients receiving chemotherapy care in calm, comfortable and supportive environments. The units are spacious and modern, and offer state-of-the-art therapies. Our team of specialist cancer nurses work closely with pharmacists, allied health professionals and resident medical officers to provide a high standard of care to patients under the care of the oncologists.
Our chemotherapy nurses are highly skilled and experienced. They undertake regular clinical updates and annual competency assessments to ensure that their knowledge and practice is up-to-date. The nurses undertake thorough assessments of patients’ symptoms, provide information on treatments and support patients in managing their illness and the emotional, physical and psychological effects of chemotherapy. The nurses will liaise with the patients’ consultant to ensure they have an up-to-date and comprehensive information on their status and progress.
Our aim is to care for the whole person, and ensure they receive optimum support, including pre-treatment visits and, if required, follow-up telephone advice or nurse review on the day unit. Where patients require community support, our staff link with general practitioners, community nurses and palliative care teams according to the patient’s individual needs.
